- 1. Click the Windows Start Button in the bottom left portion of your screen.
- 2. Type “Control Panel” in the search bar.
- 3. Select the Control Panel Desktop App
- 4. Once this is open, you will want to Navigate to Accounts >> Mail (Microsoft Outlook 2016)
- 5. A new windows will open with the title, “ Mail Setup- Outlook”
- 6. Select “Email Accounts…”
- 7. Here you will see a list of the profiles on the system.
- 8. Next select “New…”
- 9. Another window will open up. It’s called, “Add Account”
- 10. Once on that page select “Manual setup or additional server types”
- 11. Click Next
- 12. Select “POP or IMAP” option
- 13. Click Next
- 14.Enter in your information in the first two boxes.
- 15. A BCS Engineering email is IMAP, So we will select “IMAP” in the drop down, (NOT POP3)
- 16. For the “incoming Mail server”, as well as the “Outgoing Mail Server” input “mail.bcsehosting.com
- 17. Enter in your email address and Password in the “logon Information” box. (make sure “Remember Password” is checked)
- 18. Next click “More Settings…” at the bottom right of the window.
- 19. Navigate to the “Outgoing Server” tab and make sure “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication”
- 20. Also make sure that “Use same settings as my incoming mail server” is checked.
- 21. Navigate to the “Advanced” tab.22. Navigate to the “Advanced Tab” and at the selection in the drop down box for SMTP change from “None” to “SSL” for Incoming then change the number next to Port to “993” for IMAP, and “995” for POP then click “OK” at the bottom. For Outgoing, you will want to set port to “587” and change the dropdown box to either “TLS” or “StartTLS”.
- 22. You will then be taken back to the “Change Account” section, first click “Test Account Settings” to verify it is working.
